- Be familiar with the coaching and training programme in order to ensure your child is fully involved
- Applaud the performance of both teams
- Provide positive feedback in training and matches
- Encourage all players, irrespective of ability
- Be positive with the referee
- Acknowledge the efforts of the referee
- Let players play their game, not your game
- Praise efforts, not results
- Set an example for the players
- Be aware of the RFU Welfare of Young People Policy and Procedures in relation to verbal and emotional abuse

- Play for enjoyment
- Play hard, but play fair
- Play by the laws of the game
- Be committed to your team - attend all practices and matches
- Never argue with the referee - control your temper at all times
- Be a good sport - applaud good play whether from your team or your opponent
- Have fun, improve your skills and feel good
- Recognise the efforts made by coaches, parents, match officials and administrators.
